Not only was Sebastian Ofner a favourite going into his second round match against Popyrin he was also entering the encounter on the back of some solid form this season. And as a result of that, he had the confidence under his belt to tackle a player like Popyrin who is ranked 90th in the world.
Popyrin did not allow Ofner into the match though. Not once was Ofner able to get the better of his opponent’s serve and in turn was broken four times in the encounter.
The match lasted a mere 68 minutes and saw Popyrin win 6-4, 6-1.
This followed Popyrin’s first round victory over Benjamin Bonzi in which again, the Aussie hadn’t dropped a set. In that match at least, Popyrin was a favourite but to have upset his Austrian opponent in this one would have made for some exciting times for him.

Prizmic Overcomes Piros
In a match between two virtual greenhorns, Prizmic was able to double his main draw career win count as he overcame Zsombor Piros in the second round.
This followed his first round win fellow Croatian Duje Ajdukovic, with Prizmic dropping a total of eight games spread across these four sets.
Prizmic, who had never won a main draw match in his career before this tournament, needed an hour and 21 minutes to come through. He broke Piros’ serve three times times in his 6-2, 6-3 win even as he held on to his own serve every single time, saving the only break-point that he faced.
He now faces an opponent who is higher-pedigreed than both his previous ones and that could end 17-year-old’s journey. The question for him will be if he can put up a fight here.
Popyrin v Prizmic Prediction and Tip
Popyrin should not have a lot of trouble here with a straight-set win expected for him despite what the bookmakers are saying about Prizmic.
