Etcheverry Looking to Snap Losing Streak
It’s not a major losing streak for Tomas Etcheverry but he had lost the last two matches he played. First, it was in Bastad where he was beaten by Sebastian Ofner 6-4 1-6 5-7. In Hamburg, Etcheverry lost Laslo Djere 6-7(2) 3-6 which wasn’t a terrible loss.
Both of these aren’t that terrible as he was bound to stop playing great tennis at one point. You could argue that he played far above his level at times this year but perhaps it’s just the level he’s capable of hitting when he’s confident.
His overall score this year is 29-19 and 24 of those wins came on clay. It’s by far his best surface which is normal as he grew up on it. It’s time to start winning again though and this will be a real chance to do so.
He never played his opponent but he should be familiar with him considering they’re both from Argentina. Talent-wise, Etcheverry is clearly ahead.

Andreozzi Overcomes Misolic
Guido Andreozzi played a match in Kitzbuhel and he did really well by beating native player Filip Misolic 5-7 6-4 6-2. The win is actually a continuation of good play for the Argentinian as he won two matches in the qualifiers to get into the main draw so he’s on a 3-match winning streak.
He’s playing really solid tennis and while that might surprise some it shouldn’t. He’s been a solid player for much of his career and clay was always his best surface.
Like many specialists, he doesn’t mind playing long rallies and Misolic ran out of steam in their match. That won’t happen against Etcheverry so it’s going to be a very tough matchup for him. He can win but he’ll need to raise his level a bit more.
He’s 18-13 on clay this year and 29-17. A 30th win will need his best performance to date.
Etcheverry v Andreozzi Prediction and Tip
As much as Andreozzi is playing really solid I think Etchverry will win. The conditions should suit him perfectly.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Etcheverry to win in straight sets: 5/6
