The Estoril Open 2020, also known as ATP Estoril, is an upcoming men’s professional tennis tournament that will be played as a part of the ATP World Tour 250 Series. In this article, we will give you the latest 2020 ATP Estoril betting tips and predictions.

Played on outdoor clay courts in the picturesque town of Cascais, it is one of the sought-after tennis events in Portugal.

Estoril Open replaced the famed Portugal Open – a combined ATP and WTA event – owing to a lack of sponsorship. Played in the first week of May every season, the tournament serves as a crucial training point for those who are looking to leave an impression in the subsequent Masters’ events and the French Open.

In its short history, ATP Estoril has attracted many popular players from the circuit like Kevin Anderson, Pablo Carreno Busta, Richard Gasquet, and Nick Kyrgios.

ATP Estoril 2020 Schedule and Dates

The 2019 ATP Estoril will begin on April 27, with the final set to be played on Sunday, May 3. The qualifying rounds will be played in the couple of days leading up to the first round matches.

The exact schedule for this men’s ATP event in Portugal will be revealed a few days before the tournament begins.

What Happened at the 2019 ATP Estoril Open?

Stefanos Tsitsipas overcame Pablo Cuevas in the final of the Estoril Open last year to win the title, his second after the Marseille Open in 2019. He would go on to add the ATP Finals later in the year.

Earlier, Fabio Fognini, seeded second, opted out of the tournament because of injury issues and there were early exits for three of the seeds while Gael Monfils, Frances Tiafoe and David Goffin made it to the last-eight stage. Only Goffin then managed to win his quarterfinal before going down to Tsitsipas.

The 2018 edition of Estoril Open featured the South African No. 1 Kevin Anderson as the top seed, along with the defending champion Pablo Carreno Busta placed in the opposite bracket as the second seed.

The two players were joined by the likes of Gilles Muller, Kyle Edmund, Robin Haase, and Leonardo Mayer. Next generation stars like Frances Tiafoe and Stefanos Tsitsipas also participated in the event.

Four of the top eight seeds were defeated in the first round itself, with Anderson and Muller losing in the second round. The defending champion Busta could reach as far as the semifinal where he lost to Tiafoe in straight sets.

The final match of the tournament could have very well been played between Tsitsipas and Tiafoe, but the local favorite Joao Sousa had other plans.

He rose through the ranks to defeat the Greek prodigy and eventually set the final showdown with Tiafoe. Sousa won the tournament with 6-4, 6-4, to claim his only title on the 2018 ATP Tour.
