What Happened at the 2020 Hungarian Open?

The 2020 edition of the Hungarian Open wasn’t held because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In 2019, after defending champion Marco Cecchinato opted not to participate in the tournament because of an illness, unseeded and fellow Italian Matteo Berrettini went on to win the title. He defeated Serbian Filip Krajinovic in the final in a three-setter to lift the trophy.

Fifth seeded Laslo Djere was the only seeded player to make it to the semifinals, even as the top seeded Marin Cilic was sent packing in a gruelling three-setter by Pablo Cuevas. Second seeded Borna Coric went one better before going down in two sets at the hands of Krajinovic.
