This is one of the four new tournament which the ATP has opted to organise in wake of the issues with getting competitions to be played during the coronavirus pandemic. This tournament in Sardinia will be hosted on clay with 28 singles and 16 doubles pairs in action.

The Sardinia Open will be held as a ATP 250 competition with the singles winner expected to take home €13,320 and the runner-up winning €11,130. The doubles winner will pocket a prize money of €6,030 in 2020.

2020 ATP Sardinia Open Schedule & Dates

The 2020 edition of the Sardinia Open, which is expected to be the only time it’s played – unless the ATP extends its license to beyond the first year – will be hosted between October 12 and 18. The first round matches begin on October 12 with the qualifiers to be played before that while the final will be played on October 18.

The Sardinia Open will run in parallel with St.Petersburg Open and one of the two ATP Cologne competitions.

We are still awaiting confirmation on the players expected to participate at the Sardinia Open which will be hosted on clay. According to reports, Fabio Fognini is expected to lead the draw as the top seed, and the tournament will have Disan Lajovic and Casper Ruud as the other top players.
