ATP Zhuhai is a men’s professional tennis tournament that is a part of the ATP World Tour 250 Series. In 2019, it will be replacing the ATP Shenzhen Open in the same slot and will mark the start of the Asian leg of the ATP World Tour. The 2020 ATP Zhuhai Open will start on Monday, September 28 and will go all the way through the week to Sunday, October 4. The qualifying rounds will be played over the weekend right before the main competition begins. It will be played in the same week as the ATP Chengdu Open.

What Happened at the Previous Zhuhai Open?
The 2020 ATP Zhuhai will be the second edition of the competition. It is replacing the ATP Shenzhen Open, whose 2018 version was definitely entertaining, to say the least. Alex de Minaur won the 2019 Zhuhai Open by defeating Adrian Mannarino in the title-decider, needing two sets to clinch the title.
Stefanos Tsitsipas, who had also opted to feature in this competition, was knocked out in the second round, incidentally by Mannarino too. He retired from his match in the third set because of an injury.
The 2018 ATP Shenzhen was won by the Japanese qualifier Yoshihito Nishioka, who defeated Pierre-Hughes Herbert in the final. The event featured a star-studded line-up – Andy Murray, David Goffin, Fernando Verdasco, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and more. Against all odds, the young Japanese managed to win the tournament after defeating the likes of Verdasco and Denis Shapovalov on his way to the final.
