What Happened at the 2019 WTA Bucharest Open?
It was a surprise win for Elena Rybakina in the previous edition of the Bucharest Open, winning a one-sided final against Patricia Maria Tig. Rybakina triumphed 6-2, 6-0 to take home the trophy after Tig had sent out the defending champion Anastasija Sevastova in the second round.
Sevastova, who had won the title in 2018, was the top seed in the competition but crashed out early.
