What Happened at the 2022 Chengdu Open?
There was no Chengdu Open held in 2020, 2021 and 2022 because of the pandemic.
In the 2019 final played between two unseeded players, the Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta overcame Alexander Bublik to lift the trophy. He won 6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-6 (3) to win the title.
Eighth seeded Shapovalov was the only seeded player to make it to the semifinal while Grigor Dimitrov, seeded fourth was the only other one to make it to the quarterfinals.
The top three seeds, Isner, Auger-Aliassime and Paire were all knocked out in the second round in this 2019 edition.
