Grigor Dimitrov will start off the 2018 edition of the Cincinnati Open as the defending champion after he won the title last year by defeating Nick Kyrgios in the final in straight sets. On his way to the final, he did not face too many obstacles, only needing to overcome del Potro and John Isner.
The Cincinnati Open women’s draw will have Muguruza looking to defend her title which she won after defeating Simona Halep in the final. More vitally she dropped just one game in that title-decider, after having scraped past Madison Keys and Svetlana Kuznetsova in previous matches and routed Karolina Pliskova in the semi-finals.
Interestingly, only Nadal from the Big Four had played last year and was sent packing in the quarter-finals by Kyrgios. This time around, all four players, Federer, Murray and Djokovic, apart from Nadal, are expected to feature in this competition.
