The French Open is an annual tennis tournament that takes place at the Stade Roland-Garros in Paris, France. This year, the French Open will run from 22nd May to 5th June. Some of the best tennis players will travel to France to compete in the Grand Slam event.

Tennis fans can already place bets on who will take the Coupe des Mousquetaires. On the men’s side, the early odds are in favor of Rafael Nadal, who is closely followed by Novak Djokovic.

Rafael Nadal (+110)

The early odds for Rafael Nadal to win the French Open men’s singles stand at +110 according to sportingpedia. The Spanish tennis player has won the most Grand Slam men’s singles titles, namely 21. Nadal has 13 French Open titles.

In singles, he won 90 ATP titles. The left-handed tennis player has 81 consecutive wins on clay, which is a record-breaking result in the Open Era. At the 2022 Australian Open, Nadal sealed his 21st Grand Slam victory after winning five sets against Daniil Medvedev.

At the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, Nadal took the gold medal in men’s singles after defeating Chile’s Fernando González. In 2016, Nadal and Marc López defeated Romania’s Florin Mergea and Horia Tecău to win the Olympic gold in men’s doubles.

Novak Djokovic (+200)

Novak Djokovic is a Serbian professional tennis player. A common nickname for Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer is the Big Three. Djokovic has been ranked #1 by the Association Tennis Professionals, and the player retained this position for the record time of 360 weeks.

He has 86 ATP singles and 20 Grand Slam men’s singles titles (9 titles from Australian Open, 2 titles from French Open, 6 Wimbledon titles, and 3 US Open titles). At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Djokovic won a bronze medal for Serbia.

In January 2022, the Serbian tennis player had to withdraw from the Australian Open after his visa was canceled because he failed to meet the country’s Covid-19 vaccination requirements. The odds show that Djokovic is behind Nadal for the 2022 French Open title. However, it is still unclear if Djokovic will be allowed to play on the clay court in Paris because he still refuses to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

Stefanos Tsitsipas (+500)

Stefanos Tsitsipas was born on 12th August 1998 in Athens, Greece. In 2021, he was ranked #3 by the Association of Tennis Professionals, becoming the highest-ranked Greek tennis player in history.

Last year, the right-handed tennis player from Greece reached the finals after defeating Alexander Zverev. Unfortunately, he had to settle for second place after Novak Djokovic overturned a two-set deficit to win the title. The tennis player revealed that he learned of his grandmother’s death five minutes before the match. This year, he is among the favorites to snatch the French Open title, and the early odds for him stand at +500.

Dominic Thiem (+1,100)

Dominic Thiem is an Austrian professional tennis player and one of the odds-on favorites to win the French Open title this year. The 28-year-old player has won 17 ATP Tour singles titles up until now.

In 2020, Thiem snatched the Grand Slam title at the US Open after defeating Alexander Zverev in a five-set final. In the Mallorca Championships in 2021, Thiem suffered a right wrist injury. Hopefully, his fans will be able to watch him playing on the clay court in Paris. The early odds for him to win the 2022 French Open title stand at +1,100.

Alexander Zverev (+1,200)

Alexander Zverev is a German tennis player who has 19 ATP singles titles and 2 in doubles. At the 2020 US Open, he finished just behind Dominic Thiem. At the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, Zverev took the Olympic gold in men’s singles.

Although Zverev lost in the quarterfinals to Tsitsipas in straight sets at the 2021 French Open, the German tennis player celebrated his best performance so far on French soil. At the moment, the odds for Zverev to seal his first French Open title stand at +1,200.
