Leading the draw is the former World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka. The Belarusian’s first half of the season has been on a rather disappointing note.

She hasn’t been that active on the tour and in the events she did participate, she lost in the early rounds. Her best run of the season came earlier this year in the Miami Masters, where she made it all the way to the semifinal before losing to Sloane Stephens.

Even though she is yet to win a title this year, her recent form and momentum are certainly going to help her win one soon. Most recently, she reached the semi-final in Madrid Masters, the quarter-final in Italian Open and fourth round in the French Open.

Angelique Kerber is another former World No. 1 who will be playing in Mallorca. She has had a decent season so far and is coming to Spain sailing high on confidence and rhythm.
