Marin Cilic is one of those rare tennis players who managed to etch out his own name on a Grand Slam title during the dominance of the Big Three. In the piece below we look at his game and what is the tennis racquet Cilic uses along with its specifications and all the remaining information around it.
The Croat has displayed some of his top tennis during a time when Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic were relentless in their pursuit for tennis excellence. To then hold one’s own is something Cilic did so admirably, propelling him at one point to number three in the world.
That ranking came on the back of his 2018 Australian Open performance at which he made it to the final before going down to Federer, who won his 20th Grand Slam title with that victory. Cilic overcame Nadal in the quarterfinal of that competition too, leading the Spaniard 2-0 in the final set before he retired.

Earlier, Cilic created history by winning the US Open title in 2014, having overcome Federer in the quarterfinal and Kei Nishikori in the final. A final at the 2017 Wimbledon followed soon after but this time around he went down to Federer.
This run of form also saw Cilic win his only Masters title as well, as he went on to clinch the 2016 Cincinnati Masters with a finals win over Andy Murray.
Earlier, Cilic had shot to fame with four ATP titles in 2009 including the ATP 500 series title at the China Open. With at least three titles in each of the next three seasons, Cilic managed to establish himself as a regular in the top 10, later pushing towards a career-best world number three on the back of some excellent showing on the Grand Slam and Masters circuit.
Cilic relies on his booming serve, much like Croatia’s other Grand Slam winner Goran Ivanisevic, and has a powerful forehand which he uses to good effect. His ability to move rapidly on court has helped his cause over the years as well, as has his aggressive baseline play that has made life difficult for his opponents.
