Alexander Zverev v Hugo Dellien Head to Head
This will be the first-ever clash between these players and Zverev is a heavy favourite in this one and with a good reason.
He is 60 places better ranked at the moment and has won 10 ATP titles, three of which were Masters, while for years older Dellien has four Challenger titles under his belt.
All this and the fact that Zverev is in need of wins and ranking points after an average start to this year is why everyone expects him to win the match, hence really short odds for it to happen.
However, Zverev Can’t Find Form Since March
The German talent has been really struggling since mid-March after a solid start of 2019. He kicked the year off with a 7-2 record (Australian Open round of 16 and Acapulco finals) but has only 7-8 after that and has won two consecutive matches only once in the last 15 weeks, which is not what is expected from the world number four.
His record on clay is 6-6, with losses against every decent player he came across and wins over old players or average clay courters which is shocking if we look at the previous two years when he had 16-4 and 20-3 on this surface and a Masters title on clay in each of them heading into the French Open.
Dellien Looking To Become A Top 100 Mainstay
Hugo Dellien is the second best Bolivian tennis players ever, only behind Mario Martínez who played in the 80s and has won three ATP titles and was 35th ranked at one point. He could outrank his older countryman at some point in his career as he’s currently 62nd and is climbing the rankings steadily since the year started.
His clay record in 2019 is pretty solid 25-12 and he’s played only one match outside this surface all year long. Dellien just loves to play on dirt and of his 538 career matches, only 19 were played outside this surface (which is less than 3.5%).
Alexander Zverev v Hugo Dellien Predictions & Tips
Zverev will give his 100% to win this match and finally get into the finishing stages of a tournament after three and a half months and he will be able to win easily in the end, as talent and overall ability both heavily go into his favour when facing Dallien. This is why my pick for the match is Alex Zverev to win in straight sets.
Tip: Zverev to win 2-0: 8/13 (888Sport)
