Sam Querrey v Andrey Kuznetsov Head to Head
This will be the first time that Querrey and Kuznetsov will be facing off in a competitive-level match.

Once ranked 11th in the world, Querrey has an excellent 10 ATP titles under his belt of which eight have come on hard court surfaces. A former semifinalist at Wimbledon and having made it to the quarterfinal of the 2017 US Open, he has been a journeyman who continues to surprise opponents.
As recently as the last year, Querrey had made the quarterfinal at Wimbledon and he did so by beating Dominic Thiem in the first round of that competition. Later in the year, he also overcame Roberto Bautista-Agut at Beijing, another of his top 10 victories. Over the years, Querrey has beaten Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray at various times as well.
This year, after making it to the second round of the Adelaide International and third round in Melbourne, Querrey next played during the pandemic break – exhibition tournaments across the country including the World TeamTennis.
On his return to the circuit, he lost in straight sets in the first round he played at the Cincinnati Open.

Kuznetsov Hoping to Get Back to Tennis
Once ranked 39th in the world, Kuznetsov has had a couple of terrible years, lost due to fitness concerns and partially due to the pandemic. Kuznetsov’s only match this year came at the Prague Challenger and he went down fighting in the first round.
He had last played in January 2018, lost the only match he featured in and then was out of action for all these months, turning to coaching
At his best, Kuznetsov has made it to fourth round of the 2016 Australian Open and the Miami Masters that very season. There have been a couple of third round appearances at the US Open as well, but while he has won 14 titles at the lower level, the Russian is yet to win an ATP tournament.
It’s a difficult return to tennis for him but the experience could prove valuable.
