Jack Sock v Adrian Mannarino Head to Head
The two players have met each other five times, with Sock leading the head-to-head 4-1. Their last meeting was at Swiss Indoors in Basel, in 2016. Sock’s career has taken a sharp decline since.

Sock Makes the Second Round, Barely
Jack Sock , currently ranked 389th in the world in singles, was once a top ten player, back in 2017, when he won the Paris Masters and qualified for the year end ATP Finals at the O2 arena in London. Since then, a combination of injury, loss of form, and questions about his attitude, have seen him plummet down the rankings.
The American has continued to be a factor on the doubles circuit, winning Wimbledon in 2014 and the US Open in 2018, as well as having the best doubles record for either team at the Laver Cup. He was also a gold medal winner at the Rio Olympics in 2016, in mixed doubles.
Sock had early losses at the New York Open and Delray Beach earlier this year. The American was involved in a tussle in his first round match here against veteran Uruguayan Pablo Cuevas, prevailing in five sets.

More Comfortable Opener For Mannarino
Frenchman Adrian Mannarino has been on the tour since 2004, but took him a while to break into the top 25 of the rankings. Relatively late in his career, but 2019 was a breakthrough for the Frenchman in s-Hertogenbosch, and then went on to reach the finals in Moscow and Zhuhai.
Comfortable with the grass courts, not only did he win his first title on grass, but also has the best record at Wimbledon, where he has made the fourth round on three occasions.
Mannarino had a poor start to 2020, losing in the first round in Doha, Auckland, and Melbourne. he did make it through to the second round in Montpellier, but then suffered more first-round defeats in Rotterdam and Delray Beach. At the Western & Southern Open last week, he was beaten in the first round by John Millman of Australia in three sets, again.
The Frenchman looked in decent touch in his opener, here at the US Open, winning against Sonego in four sets.
Jack Sock v Adrian Mannarino Prediction & Tip
An intriguing match on the cards between two players looking to get some string of form together. It will be interesting to see how well Sock recovers from his physically draining opener.
Sock may have the better head-to-head, but Mannarino has been better in recent times, and fresher, after his first round. Expect the Frenchman to win in four sets.
Tip: Mannarino to win in four sets: 3/1 (bet365)
