A tournament which was first held in 2009 will be making its return to the ATP calendars in 2021 while it will also mark the first time the Serbia Open will take place on the WTA circuit.

Run by Novak Djokovic’s family, the Serbia Open replaced the Dutch Open after 2008 and was first held on the ATP circuit the following year. It was held for four years between 2009 and 2012 before it was canned and replaced by the Dusseldorf Open.

Its return to the calendar will be marked by the organization of the first ever WTA 250 competition to be held in Serbia as well. This tournament will be played on an outdoor clay court surface.

2021 Serbia Open Schedule & Dates

The 2021 edition of the Serbia Open will be one of the many competitions to be played for the first time this season.

According to the schedule, the men’s Serbia Open will be played from April 19 to April 25 while the women’s edition will be held in May.

The qualifiers of the ATP Belgrade will begin in the lead-up to the opening round of the main draw, while the men’s singles final will be played on April 25.

This will be the first edition of the Serbia Open since 2012 in the men’s section of the draw and the first ever in the women’s section. Between 2009 and 2012, Novak Djokovic won the Serbia Open title twice, while Sam Querrey and Andreas Seppi were the other two winners.
