Sebastian Korda v Aleksandar Vukic Head to Head
It will be a first tour level meeting between the two. However, they have met twice at the lower level before and Korda won both those matches played in 2019.

Korda Eases Into Round 2
Sebastian Korda got off to a great start at the Canadian Open as the American eased past Tomas Martin Etcheverry in straight sets in the first round.
The 23-year-old, who had reached his maiden Grand Slam quarterfinal at the Australian Open earlier this year, needed just an hour and 12 minutes to beat the Argentine 6-3, 6-2.
Korda did not face a single break point in the match, while he converted 3 of 8 break points to move into the second round in his first Toronto appearance.
The American had a bright start to the season, finishing runner-up in Adelaide International, before making the last eight in the first major of the season. He had to pull out with a wrist injury in the third set of that quarterfinal against Karen Khachanov, and that injury sidelined him for three months.
Ever since his comeback, he has reached just one semifinal and that was in Queen’s on grass. Last week he lost his opening match in Washington in the second round, but he will be happy to have scored a convincing win in the Toronto opener. Can he keep the rhythm going?

Vukic Upsets the 14th Seed
Australia’s Aleksandar Vukic upset the 14th seed Borna Coric in the opening round on Tuesday.
The world no. 62, who made it to the main draw as a lucky loser, dominated the opening round contest against the Croatian to seal a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
Vukic dropped just 10 points on his serve in the entire match, winning 84% of points on his first serve. He was not broken in the match as he saved the only break point that he faced, while he capitalised on 3 of the 11 breaking opportunities that he created during the one hour and 14 minute contest.
The Australian, who reached his maiden ATP final at the Atlanta Open last month, had beaten Dan Martin in straight sets in the first qualifying round. He was then beaten by Diego Schwartzman in straight sets in the second qualifying round. But he still found a place in his first-ever Canadian Open as a lucky loser. He will now be looking to make it to the round of 16.
Korda v Vukic Prediction and Tip
It will be a tough test for Korda as Vukic has played a lot more than him this season and has a 44-25 record across levels. Vukic’s recent form has been good as well as he recently reached the final in Atlanta. So one can expect a close contest between the two, with Korda who has a superior game edging out the Aussie.
Tips:
- Low Risk Tip: Korda to win: 1/2
- Moderate Risk Tip: Three sets in the match: 4/6
