Adrian Mannarino v Richard Gasquet Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and Gasquet has won them both. This includes one in 2016 at this very tournament in Cincinnati.

It has been a season to remember for Mannarino, so much so that the 35-year-old has managed to break back into the top 30 of the rankings. Unfortunately for him, he hasn’t managed to do too well in the two tournaments that he has played so far on the hardcourts of US.
After having clinched the Newport Open competition win, Mannarino arrived at the Washington Open with an opener against Jordan Thompson. He fell to a 7-5, 6-4 defeat.
Mannarino was then expected to send Taro Daniel on his way at the Canadian Masters which he faltered at again, losing in straight sets in that opener.
He now enters a tournament in which he has made the third round on two occasions but was knocked out in the qualifiers of the 2022 edition. He will hope to do a lot better this year as he looks to climb back up the rankings charts.

Gasquet Returns to Hardcourt Tennis
Gasquet had begun the season with a title win at the Auckland Open but hasn’t done too much of note since then. His ranking has slowly deteriorated as a result, going from a season-high of 40th in the world in March to his current 53rd.
What’s been an interesting thing to note is Gasquet’s best results this season have come in hardcourt competitions but since his four-match losing streak on grass, he opted to feature on clay.
A finals appearance at a Challenger competition on clay was followed by another one at the Hopman Cup and then at the Hamburg Open. He missed the Canadian Masters as well as the Atlanta Open and Washington Open before that but Gasquet will now return to a tournament in which he was a semifinalist in 2019.
