Daria Kasatkina v Peyton Stearns Head to Head
Their only previous meeting came in the French Open earlier this year and Kasatkina won 6-0, 6-1.

Straight-set wins over Elise Mertens, Anna Blinkova and Marie Bouzkova took Kasatkina to the quarterfinal of the Montreal Open last week where she took on the 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
And with a bit more luck she might have ended Rybakina’s stay in the tournament as well.
Rybakina grabbed the first set in that match and lost the second in an equally close fashion. And then in the third, Kasatkina was up a break on two occasions, including once while serving for the match at 6-5.
She was broken back both times and in the ensuing tie-breaker, she saved four match-points before missing one of her own. Rybakina finally grabbed the win off the fifth chance she had.
Kasatkina will hope to continue with the same kind of sparkle as she looks to improve on her showing here last two times she was here having lost in the first round.

Stearns Hoping to Recapture Clay Form
Stearns had shot to fame this season because of her form on the ITF circuit which had helped her climb up from 210th which she was at the start of the season to a career-best of 55th on the ATP charts.
As a result of that, she has now been able to feature in tournaments at the highest level including the French Open – where she made the third round at the expense of Jelena Ostapenko – but she would now want to now turn that into something substantial on this US Open Swing.
As a lucky loser at the Washington Open, Stearns had made the second round and then went through the qualifiers to enter the main draw in Montreal but lost her opener against Leylah Fernandez.
Stearns will now take on a player who is gunning for a top-10 spot with a solid showing in this tournament. Could make things difficult for Stearns.
Kasatkina v Stearns Prediction and Tip
Kasatkina will start off a favourite and while Stearns isn’t someone to be trifled with, we think the Russian will still walk away a winner here. In two sets mostly.
