Michelsen Comes Through in Three against Varillas
Juan Pablo Varillas is another one of those players who loves his time on clay and it was no surprise Michelsen started off a 1/3 favourite in their first round match.
Michelsen looked like he had things under his control when he won the first set and then broke Varillas early in the second. Varillas broke back to level things out at 2-2 but more surprisingly, Michelsen did not get another chance to break in the set.
And in the tie-breaker that followed, Varillas stormed away to a 6-2 lead and clinched it soon after.
That, however, didn’t do much to deter Michelsen who broke his opponent three times in the decider to carve out the victory.
