Laslo Djere v Facundo Diaz Acosta Head to Head
Djere and Acosta have never faced off before this in a competitive match.

Djere Returns after Cincinnati Debacle
Known for his performances on clay, Djere featured in first North American hardcourt swing encounter of the season at the Cincinnati qualifiers last week. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t able to make it to the main draw as a direct entrant which meant he was drawn to face Thanasi Kokkinakis in his opening qualifying round.
And while he put up a fight, Djere found the closing rather tough as his Aussie opponent edged him out 7-5 in the third set.
This follows a string of good results on the red dirt with Djere having made the final of the Hamburg Open and the semifinal in Kitzbuhel following his third round appearance at Wimbledon.
On hardcourts, however, Djere’s overall record is a measely 48-61, which includes results at the lower level of tennis as well. Can he now keep his 93rd-ranked out? He starts off a 1/3 favourite with bet365 to win this.

Acosta Shocks Halys
It took Acosta two hours and 13 minutes to cause one of the upsets of the tournaments as he overcame the 3/1 odds (with bet365) against him to defeat Quentin Halys in a three-setter.
Acosta, who had hit a peak ranking of 93rd in the world before the start of this tournament, lost his serve at 4-5 in the first set to give Halys the opening set. From that point onward, however, there was no looking back for the Argentinian player who broke his opponent three times without losing his serve again.
What that does is to give Acosta just his second main draw win of his career, having earlier never featured in a hardcourt competition.
He had entered this one on the back of a 1-4 win-loss record on clay, which is evidently his favourite surface but the manner in which he clawed back from being a set down, he will consider himself with an equal chance against his more fancied opponent.
Djere v Acosta Prediction and Tip
While Djere is a huge favourite here at 1/3 to win this, we think Acosta will come hard at Djere and can be expected to grab a set at the very least.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Acosta to win a set: 1/1 (with bet365)
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 21.5 games in the match: 5/6 (with bet365)
