Alexander Zverev v Aleksandar Vukic Head to Head

Zverev and Vukic have never faced off in a competitive match before this.

Zverev Makes Cincinnati Semifinal

When Zverev clinched the Hamburg Open title in July, it was his first tournament win since the ATP Finals victory in 2021. Yes, that’s right, he hadn’t won a tournament in over a year and a half and that result would have come as a huge relief for the German.

Even before he won that tournament though, Zverev was showing signs of improving to the levels that had seen him break into the top five on the ATP charts.

This was after he made the semifinal at the French Open and while he then fell in straight sets to Matteo Berrettini in the third round at Wimbledon, Zverev did well in Cincinnati as well.

He overcame arch-rival Daniil Medvedev on his way to the semifinal and even in his defeat to Novak Djokovic there, Zverev put up a strong display.

Zverev, at 1/10 with bet365, starts off an easy favourite to win this one.

Vukic Solid on the North American Hardcourt Swing

It’s been a season to remember for Vukic who broke into the top 50 of the ATP Rankings this year on the back of some fine hardcourt performances.

It started with his sparkling showings on the Challenger circuit where Vukic won a title in Busan and was a runner-up in Seoul. However, it wasn’t restricted to his performances on the Challenger circuit alone as Vukic went on to deliver something special in the US Open Series too.

In the four tournaments he has played in the lead-up to the US Open, Vukic has made it to the final of one and the third round of both, Canadian Masters and Winston-Salem Open.

While the Aussie will know that things won’t get any easy against Zverev, he will hope he can put up a stodgy battle; not the kind you would expect from a player who is 6/1 (with bet365) to overcome the former US Open runner-up.

Zverev v Vukic Prediction and Tip

Zverev should grab this but not before Vukic has put up a strong showing and pushed him into a fourth at the very least.

Tips:

  • Moderate Risk Tip: Zverev to win and Both players to win a set: 6/5 (with bet365)
