He clinched his second round berth 6-2, 7-5, 6-1 after losing his serve while breaking his opponent seven times from the 24 opportunities he got in the entire encounter. 10 aces and 37 winners punctuated the efforts of Tiafoe who only faced problems in the second set when he was broken each of the two times after he overcome his opponent’s serve.
Finally in the 11th game of that set, he broke Tien again before clinching the set in the very next game.

Ofner in a Tough Battle with Borges
While Ofner had started out an 8/11 favourite with bet365 to win his opener against Nuno Borges, it took him some time to find his footing. And it took him nearly three hours to find himself a win.
Ofner won 7-6 (5), 3-6, 7-6 (7), 6-4 in a first round encounter in which both players lost their serves five times apiece. It was only Ofner’s ability to keep his cool in the two tie-breakers that assisted him to edge ahead, including the one in the third set where he was forced to save a set-point.
In a game of find margins, Ofner looked to have sealed the encounter when he went 5-1 ahead in the fourth set only for Borges to attempt a comeback one more time. He broke Ofner as he served for the match at 5-3 but the opponent served it out the second time he had a chance.
