Qinwen Zheng v Lucia Bronzetti Head to Head

Despite being ranked 23rd in the world and starting out a 1/4 favourite in her second round match against Kaia Kanepi, Zheng did not have an easy time in getting past her opponent.
Zheng was forced to remain on court for nearly two hours and needed three sets to go past Kanepi, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
Things looked to be headed according to the script when Zheng broke Kanepi twice in the first set and again in the third game of the second to go 2-1 up. Kanepi proved she was going to be no pushover when she retaliated with two breaks of serves from there to suddenly take the match into a decider.
The two then traded breaks of serves in the first three games and at 2-2 it looked like it could go either way. At this point, however, Qinwen stormed ahead to win the next four games and wrap up the encounter, following on from her 6-1, 6-0 win over Nadia Podoroska in the first round.
Qinwen is now 1/6 (with bet365) to grab a win in the third round.

Bronzetti Continues to Impress
Having shocked Barbora Krejickova in the first round despite being a 7/2 underdog with bet365, Bronzetti continued her winning with a straight-set win over Eva Lys in the second.
Bronzetti dropped a mere five games in her hour and 16 minutes long encounter against Lys to double her win count at the US Open having never gone beyond the first round here in her career.
In a match that had a few breaks of serves, it was Bronzetti’s ability to keep her unforced errors count down to 15 as compared to her opponent’s 29 that helped her steal the march on Lys. It also helped her break Lys seven times in the match.
Having lost in the first round at the Canadian Open and failing to make it past the qualifiers in Cincinnati, these two results have already given Bronzetti a far better showing than one would have thought. Against Zheng, she is a 4/1 (bet365) underdog and will hope to put up a fight.
