Marketa Vondrousova v Madison Keys Head to Head

It had been a tournament to remember for Vondrousova before entering into her fourth round against Peyton Stearns. She had dropped a mere 10 games across three matches before her victory and was a 1/7 favourite to clinch a win here too against the unheralded Stearns.
As things turned out, a shoulder issue restricted Vondrousova throughout the second part of the first set and for the majority of the second and made life on court very difficult for the world number nine.
Fortunately for Vondrousova, two hours and 10 minutes into her fourth round encounter, she was able to find a way out of her shoulder troubles and Stearns’ strong display to carve out a win.
In the second, neither player was too happy with their respective serving but a late hold from Vondrousova helped her level the match before she clinched her win 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-2.
Vondrousova will now hope she can continue with her 11-match winning streak in Grand Slam tennis but for starters she will want to enter her quarterfinal match-up fully fit against Madison Keys. The Czech starts off an 8/11 favourite here with bet365.

Keys Shocks Pegula
In what was one of the biggest shocks of the competition, Keys sent out one of the pre-tournament favourites Jessica Pegula in their fourth round encounter.
In a match that lasted a mere 63 minutes, Keys dropped just four games in her demolition of the fellow American player and third seeded Pegula. The only time Pegula looked like she could make a match out of it was when she was down 1-6, 2-3 and then broke to prevent Keys from taking a 4-2 lead.
Keys broke right back before ending the contest and entering the quarterfinal of this event for the first time since 2018. She was a finalist here in 2017.
The American had earlier faced a difficult round in the third when she was taken to three sets by Liudmilla Samsonova. What’s fascinating to watch is that Keys had entered the US Open on the back of absolutely no momentum with fitness woes afflicting her in Montreal and Keys losing her opener in Cincinnati.
