With Novak Djokovic having already fixed his semifinal spot along with Cori Gauff, all eyes will turn to how things go on the second day of the quarterfinal action at Flushing Meadows.

Below are the predictions and tips for the 10th day’s action at the US Open to be played on Wednesday.

US Open 2023 Predictions & Tips for Wednesday, September 6

Carlos Alcaraz v Alexander Zverev

When asked after his fourth round win what he had to say about his next opponent, Alcaraz, Zverev took a long pause before replying he will first look to recover and then give it his best shot against the current world number one. The trouble is, will his best be enough against a player who crushed him 6-1, 6-2 on his favourite clay court at Madrid earlier this year.

Backing Alcaraz for a win and a reasonably easy one at that.

Daniil Medvedev v Andrey Rublev

This could turn out to be a keen tussle between two players who haven’t been at their best but have deserved their places in the quarterfinals.

Medvedev looks good to make the last four but Rublev can be expected to disrupt some momentum in the middle of the encounter and that could see a fourth or the fifth set in the offing as a result.

Aryna Sabalenka v Qinwen Zheng

Sabalenka hasn’t faced any resistance in the tournament so far and that’s what Zheng will try to do – try and find a way to make it difficult for her opponent.

At the moment, with the kind of momentum that Sabalenka has and having reached number one in the world following Iga Swiatek’s exit, it could be a near-impossible task for Zheng but she won’t go away with a fight.

Marketa Vondrousova v Madison Keys

If Vondrousova is fit again, she might not face too many difficulties but we expect Keys to come out firing and push her opponent hard. Could see a longish encounter here.
