Aryna Sabalenka v Cori Gauff Head to Head
This is an interesting rivalry which has seen five previous matches ending 3-2 in favour of Gauff. They last played at the Indian Wells Open earlier this year in which Sabalenka won in straight sets.

Sabalenka Overcomes Stunningly Slow Start against Keys
Madison Keys has been in some excellent form in recent times and her wins over Jessica Pegula and Marketa Vondrousova bore ample testimony to that. And yet, not too many expected her to win the first set of her semifinal against Sabalenka 6-0.
That’s right, Keys was off to such a flying start that she broke Sabalenka five times out of the first six times she served in the match.
Up 6-0, 4-2, Keys soon had a chance to serve for the match at 5-4 but that’s when Sabalenka edged forward. She broke Keys to love to level things out and in the tie-breaker that followed, Sabalenka raced through to a 7-1 win.
She then fell 4-2 behind in the deciding set as well but again, Keys was unable to close out with Sabalenka breaking back in the very next game. The world number two saved two more break-points before taking it to a tie-breaker again.
Like in the previous tie-breaker, Keys was no match for Sabalenka with the Belrusian running away with a 10-5 win.
Sabalenka now has a chance of winning her second Grand Slam of the season but it’s not going to be easy with the world number two facing an in-form Gauff. She starts off a very slight favourite at 5/6 (with bet365).

Gauff Ends Muchova’s Journey
Gauff has been in the form of her life, easily playing some of her best tennis in all her career so far and that has propelled to what is her second Grand Slam final.
The first time she had made the final was at the 2022 French Open and she had gone into that match against Iga Swiatek as a 5/1 underdog (with bet365). To give you a perspective how things have changed, Gauff is 1/1 to win this and even that could change in her favour in the lead-up to the encounter.
And the reason for that is not just Gauff’s form in the lead-up to the tournament which saw her win the titles at the Washington Open and Cincinnati Open but also the manner in which she has come through in this one.
There have been a few fighting encounters but when the things have gone tough, Gauff has managed to find a way to win.
Like was the case in her near-two-hour semifinal encounter against the highly experienced and in-form Karolina Muchova. She won 6-4, 7-5 after having lost a 5-1 lead in the first set and missed a match-point on her own serve in the second.
In the 12th game of the second set, with Muchova serving to take it into a tie-breaker, Gauff had four more chances to win the match but it off her sixth match-point she finally converted and moved into her second Grand Slam final.
Can she lift her maiden major trophy despite starting out at 1/1 odds with bet365?
Sabalenka v Gauff Prediction and Tip
While the bookmakers seem to suggest there’s not much to choose between these two players we think Sabalenka has a very good chance of clinching her second major of the season.
Gauff has playing well but has shown that she can be put under pressure and while she has managed to find her way out of trouble otherwise, that could be a difficult proposition against a player of Sabalenka’s calibre.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Sabalenka to win: 5/6 (with bet365)
- Moderate Risk Tip: Under 22.5 games in the match: 5/6 (with bet365)
