Hibino Was Shock Winner of the Prague Open

Hibino’s record coming into the Prague Open in late July was a rather underwhelming two main draw wins to go with a plethora of losses. As a result of that she was ranked 136th in the world, close to her season-low of 139th in February.

Then, she fell in the second qualifying round of the Prague Open which wasn’t entire unexpected.

What was unexpected and highly improbable was for Hibino to go from there on to win that title. That’s exactly what happened though as Hibino earned a lucky loser spot in the main draw from where she won five rounds to lift the trophy.

Hibino will enter this tournament on the back of three successive defeats though, having lost in the second round of the WTA 125 tournament in Stanford, first round at the US Open and her opener inn ITF tournament in Tokyo.

Can Hibino overturn the 10/11 odds (with bet365) for her win?

Marino Continues with Her Struggles

There have been the odd wins in WTA main draw matches for Marino but overall, it’s not been a season to remember for the former world number 38.

Late last year, Marino had hit a high of 63rd in the world, her best ranking since 2011 and things looked like they were finally going her way. She began this season at 63rd too but since then her performances have gone in only one direction – downward.

And that has had its effect on her rankings which has seen Marino fall to 104th in the world at the moment.

Marino also enters this tournament on the back of three successive defeats while her last main draw win on the WTA Tour had come in June in Birmingham. She might start off at the same odds as her opponent, at 10/11 (with bet365) to win but it does look like she has a lot of ground to cover.

Hibino v Marino Prediction and Tip

Both Hibino and Marino start at 10/11 to win this which makes it a tough call to make but spurred on by the home crowds, Hibino could come away a winner here.

Tips:

  • Moderate Risk Tip: Hibino to win: 10/11 (with bet365)
