Mayar Sherif v Camila Giorgi Head to Head
There have been two previous meetings between these two players and both have won one apiece. Both those matches came in 2023 itself and Giorgi won on hardcourt while Sherif came through in Madrid after her opponent retired from their match because of fitness concerns.

Giorgi on a Three-Match Losing Streak
While Girogi is a better player overall on hardcourt surfaces than Sherif, it must be quickly added that her form this season in such tournaments hasn’t been the best.
In fact, in more recent times, Giorgo has fallen to bad times in hardcourt competitions, coming into this encounter on the back of three successive defeats.
This includes a qualifier loss at the Cincinnati Open at the hands of Rebecca Marino despite starting out a 3/10 favourite with bet365 in that one.
Earlier in the season though, Giorgi did win a title at the Merida Open, a tournament on hardcourt surface. This had followed a third round appearance at the Australian Open, making it a surface on which it could just be a matter of time she starts winning again.
