Tatjana Maria v Alexandrova Eala Head to Head
The pair have met once before, and that was in the first round of Hua-Hin in Thailand in February. Msria won in straight sets, conceding just four games in the process.

Now 36 years, Maria is one of the veterans on the WTA tour, although she has had two career breaks to give birth to two daughters.
Success came relatively late in her career – all three of her WTA titles came after she passed the aged of 30, and she has been a winner this year, triumphing on clay in Colombia in April, when she defeated the American Peyton Stearns in the final.
However, she had a difficult time in all the Slams, losing in the first round of all them. Her performance at Wimbledon would have been of particular disappointment to the German, given that she reached the semi-finals there in 2022.
Since she was beaten by the Croat Petra Martic in New York, Maria entered the tournament in Osaka last week, only to suffer another first round defeat, this time at the hands of the Hungarian, Panna Udvardy.

Teenage Qualifier Eala
Eala had a highly successful junior career, winning the US Open singles, and both the Australian and French Open doubles.
Now the 18 year Filipino has begun the tough journey of translating that into the senior ranks of women’s tennis.
She has already made a start, reaching six ITF finals and winning four of them, including two in June, in Merida in Spain and Roehampton in England.
She made her main tour debut two years ago in Romania, but, since then, there have been comparatively few appearances at this level.
However, she has earned the opportunity to gain her revenge for that defeat in Thailand earlier this year by Maria by winning her two matches in Guangzhou qualifying. First she beat En Shuo Liang of Taiwan in three sets, and then the American, Elizabeth Mandlik, in two.
Maria v Eala Prediction and Tip
This is a battle of age against youth, with Maria almost twice as old as Eala. They have already met once this year, and the German won that match very comfortably. There are no indications that a different outcome can be expected this time.
