Tauson Is 34-17 in 2023
After a brilliant 2021 season, Clara Tauson hasn’t been able to match that level over the last two years.
This year she is 34-17 across levels, having produced her best results in ITF tournaments. The 20-year-old Dane reached two ITF finals, both on indoor courts. While she won the title in Altenkirchen ITF, she finished runner-up in the Maribor Open in Slovenia.
At the tour level, Tauson reached the quarterfinal in Linz and made her third round debut at the French Open. She also reached the second round of the US Open for the second time in her career.
A winner of two WTA titles from three finals (all of which were played in 2021), Tauson is 3-4 in the main draws from the last four tournaments.
Overall Tauson’s ranking has fluctuated this season. Having started the season at no. 96 she fell out of the top 100 to as low as no. 141, but she has climbed back up the rankings. She broke back into the top 100 in June and is now ranked no. 76th in the world. Can she keep moving up the ladder?
