Corentin Moutet v Tao Mu Head to Head
This will be their first meeting.

Moutet Gets Easy Start
With all due respect to his opponent, Corentin Moutet is expected to cruise in this matchup easily because he’s far more established as a player. He’s not having the best year so far with a 12-17 record, but don’t be fooled by that. He’s a decent tennis player who can beat most players on his day.
Hard courts have been somewhat of a mixed bag for him, though he has a winning record on it so far in his career. He hasn’t been that good on it though lately, losing a couple of matches he should have won.
The good thing for Moutet is that he’s been in China for a while so he’s gotten used to the conditions so far and that should benefit him a little bit. He’s lacking confidence, and that’s a major issue.
I’m not saying this can’t be a complicated matchup for him, but I just don’t see how he will lose this. He’s too good for that.

Mu Eyeing Upset
Tao Mu is a native player who would like to get a win on home soil, but it’s going to take a lot from him. He’s a solid player, certainly capable of producing a good effort, but he’s not been that good, to be honest.
The record this year is only 28-26, and he’s not playing Challenger events regularly. Most of his wins come on the Futures circuit, which doesn’t have too many good players. He showed some promise in recent weeks on the Challenger Tour, but we’ll see if he can actually produce on a high level against Moutet.
He’ll get the backing of the native crowd, but don’t expect that to move the needle too much. If he wins this match, it will have to come from him actually outplaying his opponent. I think he’s capable of that, but it will be very tough.
Moutet v Mu Prediction and Tip
There is very little value in backing Moutet, so I will try the over. Moutet has complicated won matches in the past so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise against a native player who has nothing to lose.
Tips:
- Moderate Risk Tip: Over 17.5 games in the match: 4/6 (with bet365)
