World no. 54 Martina Trevisan bounced back from a set and 4-5 down to win a three-hour plus contest against the top seed Ons Jabeur in the round of 16 on Wednesday.
With the win, Trevisan reached a fourth quarterfinal of the season.
In a sapping contest against the Tunisian, Trevisan saved 13 of 17 break points and converted 6 of 11 to win the match 6-7 (4-7), 7-5, 6-3.
The 29-year-old left-hander faced elimination after Jabeur broke in the ninth game of the second set and served for the match in the next. But a determined Trvevisan scripted a remarkable turnaround to battle past the world no. 7.
Trevisan had won her furst two rounds with ease, beating Demi Schuurs 6-2, 6-0 and Jasmine Paolini 7-5, 6-2 respectively.
She has improved her season record to 21-22 across levels and will be eager to reach a first semifinal of the season.

Dolehide Stuns Alexandrova
World no. 111 Caroline Dolehide produce a stunning performance in the round of 16 on Wednesday as she knocked out eighth seed Ekaterina Alexandrova in straight sets.
The 25-year-old American, was not broken in the match and she dropped just 10 points on her serve in the entire match, to rout the Russian 6-1, 6-2.
It was a much easier win for Dolehide, who had needed three sets to win her first two rounds. In the first, she rallied from a set down to knock out Peyton Stearns in a three hour contest, with all three sets going the distance.
She then ousted Sachia Vickery 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 in the second round.
Dolehide is 41-22 across levels this year. It’s her second tour level quarterfinal following her last eight finish in Monterrey. Can she reach her first WTA semifinal of the season?
Trevisan v Dolehide Prediction and Tip
Trevisan is the more experienced player but will be physically and mentally drained out after the late night round of 16 win over Jabeur. Dolehide, who is playing some high quality tennis, will be much fresher after breezing past Alexandrova. Expect a good contest with Trevisan edging through.
