Stefanos Tsitsipas v Nicolas Jarry Head to Head
There have been four previous meetings between these two players and it’s 2-2 on head to head.
Jarry had won the first one on the grass courts of Rosmalen in 2019 before they faced off three times this year itself where Tsitsipas leads 2-1.

Tsitsipas in a Bit of a Recent Struggle
Since making it to the quarterfinals of the French Open, Tsitsipas has won one ATP title. That’s the good part.
The not so good has been his performances in some of the other tournaments which have given him a win-loss record of 7-8.
That’s not very poor obviously but for a player ranked fifth and wanting to march and make it back into the top three, it leaves a lot to desire. What makes this worse is Tsitsipas lost in the second round of the US Open as well, and to Dominic Stricker who had come into the match as a 5/1 underdog (with bet365).
Tsitsipas featured in the Davis Cup as his only tournament since that US Open ouster and struggled there too – needing three sets to get past Lucas Klein and then losing to Alex Molcan.
Can he turn things around here against a known nemesis? He is 4/11 (with bet365) to do that.

Jarry at Career-Best Ranking
It’s been the kind of season for Jarry that he would hope he can churn out every year. The Chilean player was outside the top 150 of the rankings at the start of 2023 but fast forward about nine months and he is currently ranked 22nd in the world – his career-best ranking.
This has been down to his two titles he’s won this year, both of which have come on his favourite surface, clay.
That’s not to say that Jarry has done poorly on other surfaces like some of the other clay-court specialists. In hardcourt competitions Jarry has a 9-5 record for the year and even on grass he made the quarterfinal at the Halle Open and the third round at Wimbledon.
Unfortunately for Jarry, he has been drawn to face Tsitsipas in the very first round which could turn this into a keen tussle. No surprises that Jarry starts off a second favourite but we think it could get a lot closer than the 2/1 odds on offer (at bet365) for a Jarry win.
