JJ Wolf v Matteo Arnaldi Head to Head

Things looked to be going well for Wolf as he made the fourth round of the Australian Open earlier this year and then was a semifinalist at the Dallas Open.
A string of poor results at Delray Beach, Acapulco, Indian Wells and Miami made things a little prickly for the American but he looked to have done well making the quarterfinal of the Eastbourne International and Washington Open and then a semifinal in Atlanta.
Unfortunately Wolf’s not followed that up with much of note. At Toronto, he was sent packing by Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the first round, losing just two games in the process. Alex de Minaur dislodged him from the first round of the Cincinnati but then came his worst defeat.
It was at the US Open where Zhizhen Zhang sent Wolf out in the very first round.
As a result, Wolf has had to feature in the qualifiers here and while he has done well to win them both in straight sets, it remains to be seen how he goes in the main draw. He starts off a 4/6 favourite with bet365 here.

Arnaldi Hoping to Continue US Open Form
Arnaldi was ranked 134th in the world at the start of the season and a title win at the Tenerife Challenger pushed him closer to the top 100. A series of underwhelming results was stalled by another Challenger victory in Murcia and a third in Germany.
Amidst all this, Arnaldi had also begun to win matches at the highest level.
A semifinal at the Umag Open, a second round appearance apiece at the French Open and Canadian Masters, and then there was the US Open where he overcame Cameron Norrie on his way to the fourth round.
While he lost in the first round of the Zhuhai to Aslan Karatsev, he has won both his qualifiers here to enter the main draw. He did save a few match-points against Daniel Elahi Galan in the first round there but with the kind of confidence he has shown in recent times, it’s no surprise he isn’t too far behind his opponent here.
