Ofner Makes it Two Shock Wins in a Row
In the first round here Ofner had gone into it against Marton Fucsovics as a 31/20 underdog (with 888Sport) to win it. He come back from a set down to overcame Fucsovics and enter the second round.
It became slightly more difficult for Ofner on paper when he started off at 5/3 odds (with 888Sport) to defeat Alexander Bublik in the second.
Not only did Ofner overcome Bublik in that encounter but the manner in which he did that makes him a bit of a giant-slayer in this tournament. Ofner routed his opponent 6-4, 6-2 to seal his quarterfinal berth next to Thiem with the match lasting just 68 minutes.
Ofner now faces a fellow Austrian player and given his own form and that of his opponent here, it’s a surprise that he starts off 1/1 (with bet365) to win this.
