Alcaraz was broken twice in the encounter, both of which came in the first set after he had taken the lead on those two occasions. He went 2-1 and 3-2 up but on both occasions lost the advantage. In the ninth game, however, Alcaraz made it past his opponent’s serve before clinching the set.
Two breaks of serves in the second set clinched the deal for Alcaraz, with the world number two serving a lot better in it and losing a mere four points on his own serve.

Musetti Stuns Khachanov
Karen Khachanov had entered this tournament on the back of a title win in Zhuhai and was a favourite coming into this opener with bet365 offering 3/5 for his win over Musetti.
