Jennifer Brady v Peyton Stearns Head to Head

Brady and Stearns will be facing off for the first time in their career.

Brady Made the Third Round at US Open

Having made it back to the circuit after months of being away because of an injury, Brady has featured in one ITF and four WTA tournaments. And while she failed to make it past the second round at either of the first four, she finally notched up back to back wins at the US Open.

Brady defeated Kimberly Birrell and Magda Linette in those first two rounds to seal off her third round spot where she faced another comeback player in Caroline Wozniacki.

And she looked good to clinch her third win in a row as she grabbed the first set against the former world number one but fell in the next two after that.

What needs to be seen now is if she can replicate that form into these last few tournaments this season before she starts off in 2024 with an improved ranking. Currently ranked 258th, even a couple of wins in this tournament – and the remaining ones for the season – could help her get close to the top 100.

Here, Brady starts off a second favourite though with bet365 offering 6/5 for her win.

Stearns in Solid Form in the Qualifiers

Stearns had gotten knocked out in the very first round of the Guadalajara Open and as a result didn’t have enough points to make a direct entry into this tournament.

Forced to play in the qualifiers as a result, Stearns had a ball of a time there, dropping a mere five games spread across the two matches to enter round one. The American, who had hit a career-high ranking of 43rd earlier this season, routed Anna-Lena Friedsam and Laura Pigossi in straight sets to seal her main round berth.

Earlier this season, Stearns had shot to fame with two ITF titles and a WTA 125 final appearance at Bogota.

And when she went on to make it to the fourth round at the US Open more recently, it looked like a tennis star was taking birth already.

Can she now live up to the bookmakers’ expectations as she starts off 7/10 (with bet365) to win this?

Brady v Stearns Prediction and Tip

While Brady is slowly climbing back up the rankings ladder it needs to be seen whether she has recaptured her game fully. We aren’t quite sure about her game here after a month-long break following the US Open, but we do think that this could be a tight encounter that goes long, time-wise.
