McDonald’s had one of the best seasons of his tennis career and that has been down to the consistency that he has shown in making it to the later stages of tournaments rather than winning any titles.

Moutet Continues to Struggle
Moutet was on the verge of breaking into the top 50 but his on-court troubles have mirrored a mounting list of concerns off the court. Those controversies might have had a role to play but one way or the other Moutet would know he needs to do a lot better than he has this season.
Because of the 22 main draw matches that Moutet has played this year, he has won just seven. In hardcourt tournaments that record reads an underwhelming 2-6.
More recently Moutet had featured in the Astana Open and even there, going up against the 315th-ranked Alibek Kachmazov, he had fallen in the first round in straight sets.
Which is why it comes as no surprise that he is a strong second favourite in this one, coming up against an in-form McDonald.
