Local hope Rigele Te has been handed a wild card for the tournament.
The 25-year-old Chinese is 27-16 across levels this year. He featured in three Futures finals this year, winning the title in Sanxenxo, Spain and finishing runner-up in Monastir and Baotou, China.
Te has a career-high singles ranking of No. 395, achieved in 2018. Currently ranked no. 494th in the world, Te will be playing in the main draw in Shanghai for the first time.
He had featured in the qualifying rounds twice before, bit failed to make the main draw.
