Jarry v Atmane Prediction and Tip
Atmane would not have expected to find himself in the second round of this tournament, so he can enjoy the occasion, knowing that the pressure to win is all on the shoulders of his opponent.
Jarry, though, is unlikely to allow that to bother him, and after his victory over Tsitsipas in Beijing, should be feeling confident.
Tips & Odds*:
- Low Risk Tip: Jarry to win: 3/7 (Click Here to Bet with bet365)
- Moderate Risk Tip: Under 25.5 games in the match: 5/6 (Click Here to Bet with 888Sport)
Nicolas Jarry v Terence Atmane Head to Head
The pair have never met before.
This will be the first match between the 27 year old Chilean, and the Frenchman, who is six years younger.
Jarry Beat Tsitsipas in Beijing
Another recipient of a first round bye, the current Chilean number one Jarry has bounced back from the nine month doping ban he served in 2020 a stronger player, and he is twice a winner on the ATP tour this year, both successes on clay.
He lifted the trophies in both Chile and Geneva.
One of those players who was around the last time the ATP tour visited Shanghai, he reached the third round in 2018, but failed to qualify the following year.
He has just come from Beijing, where he claimed a significant first round scalp in the form of Stefanos Tsitsipas, beating the world number six in straight sets.
His run was halted by Alexander Zverev in the third round.

Atmane Wins on Masters Debut
Although Atmane has a fine recent record in China, winning two Challenger titles in the country last month, he would not have expected much of himself in Shanghai.
After all the Frenchman had never qualified for a Grand Slam or Masters event before.
And even after he came through qualifying, beating Hiroki Moriya of Japan, and Steven Diaz of Canada, both in straight sets, to make the first round, he would have been keeping his expectations in check against the experienced Australian, Jordan Thompson.
However, he made a strong start, and one break was enough to earn him the first set.
Another break gave him an early lead in the second set, but then Thompson hit back, two successive breaks enabling him to level the match.
The first two games of the third set were shared, and then Atmane was forced to save three break points on his own serve.
It proved to be a turning point, as inspired, he broke the Australian in successive games, and served out for the match.
