Kiki Bertens v Katerina Siniakova Head to Head

Bertens and Siniakova have met only once on the tour – back in the 2018 WTA Beijing. Surprisingly, the Czech won that match in straight sets.

Bertens Closer to a Top-Five Debut

Bertens started this season as the World No. 9 and bit by bit, she has moved up in the rankings. She is currently in the seventh position although, she reached her career-best ranking at No. 6.

The Dutchwoman has a pretty solid record on clay – five of her eight singles titles have come on this surface. Last year, she was the runner-up in Madrid after losing to Petra Kvitova in the final.

As for her run this season, she won the title in St. Petersburg and followed it with a rather mediocre performance in the subsequent tournaments. In the Sunshine Doubles, the best she could do was reach the fourth round. When the clay season began, Bertens started with a third-round run in Charleston and then, reached the semifinal in Stuttgart.

Siniakova, Capable of Putting up a Fight

The season so far hasn’t been that great for the 22-year-old Czech, at least on the singles circuit. She is the Doubles No. 1 right now but in the singles ranking, she is placed at the 44th place.

Up until WTA Dubai, she suffered a string of losses in the opening matches. Then, in Dubai, she won her opening match but ended losing to Kvitova in the next round. The same trend continued in the tournaments that followed.

Her last event was in Istanbul where she lost the opener to Elena Rybakina. In the same time, Siniakova won the Sydney International doubles and reached the final in Indian Wells with Barbora Krejcikova. She also has two singles titles to her name although, she last won them in 2017.

Bertens v Siniakova Predictions & Tips

It is hard to imagine Bertens falling to a player who is so out of form. More than that, she loves playing on clay and has been quite good on this surface throughout her career. Expect Bertens to wrap this one quickly.

Tip: Under 20.5 games in the match: 4/5 (888Sport)
