That win over Sharapova was a much-needed one as well, considering that Barty fell to Sofia Kenin in the opener itself last week in Toronto. She seems to be well on track to make amends for that defeat although, a slip in form can change that very soon.

Kontaveit Looking Comfortable
Fresh off her decent third-round run in the Rogers Cup last week, Kontaveit started her journey in Cincinnati with an impressive win over the German ace Angelique Kerber. Moving past the number 13 seed with 7-6(9), 6-2, she then defeated Iga Swiatek in the second round in straight sets.
Even though the Estonian hasn’t been among the most efficient of the players on the circuit, she has still enjoyed a decent year. She reached the semifinal in Miami and the final in Stuttgart, defeating the likes of Bianca Andreescu, Naomi Osaka, and Victoria Azarenka.
Barty v Kontaveit Prediction & Tips
Barty is in an imposing form at the moment, making it difficult for anyone to stop her. At the same time, Kontaveit has some experience under her belt and with the help of some momentum and quality shots, she can make life difficult for the young Aussie. We have an interesting match in our hands where Barty, despite all things considered, will start as the favourite.
