Madison Keys v Angelique Kerber Head to Head

Kerber has heavily dominated their last 10 meetings, as she currently holds an 8-2 lead over Keys. She has won four of their last five meetings, with their most recent match taking place in the Wuhan Open last season.

Kerber, Trying to Find her Bearings

Starting as the number four seed in this year’s WTA Osaka, Angelique Kerber enjoyed a bye into the second round. There, she defeated the American qualifier Nicole Gibbs in straight sets to mark her first win in almost two months.

The German has been struggling with her form for quite some time now, as she went through the US Open Series without winning a single match. In Toronto, Cincinnati, and New York, she fell in the opening rounds to players ranked outside the top 20.

The same trend continued in Zhengzhou last week when she lost the first-round fixture to Alison Riske. Needless to mention, this win against Gibbs in Osaka was a much needed one for the German, she snapped her losing streak.

Kerber was fairly more impressive at the start of the season as she reached the semifinal in Doha and the final in the Indian Wells Open and WTA Eastbourne. As former World No. 1, she has more than enough experience and skills needed to perform at such a level.

Keys, Looking Imposing

Madison Keys started her journey in the Pan Pacific Open as number five seed. Starting in the first round, she moved past Daria Kasatkina and then, Zarina Diyas with a couple of solid performances.

Keys has been on a roll ever since she found her groove in the US Open series. After winning the Cincinnati Open, where she defeated the likes of Garbine Muguruza, Simona Halep, and Venus Williams, the American reached the fourth-round at the Flushing Meadows.

Earlier this year, she won the Charleston Open and reached the quarterfinal in French Open as well, thus clearly sending a message that she is a formidable opponent. As a US Open champion, she has already staked her claim numerous times as a top 10 player.

At the same time, she has also incurred a slight drop in the form on a few occasions but has always managed to bounce right back.

Keys v Kerber Tips & Predictions

Expect this match to go into three sets. Kerber isn’t all that sharp at the moment and that is something that Keys will look to exploit. This will be an entertaining one.

Tip: Under 20.5 games in the match: 10/13 (888Sport)
