Nick Kyrgios v Andreas Seppi Head to Head

The pair have  played each other four times before, with the Australian leading their head to head series by three matches to one. Kyrgios won their most recent meeting in Acapulco earlier this year, and their first at the 2014 US Open. In between those matches, the pair traded victories at the Australian Open.

Which Kyrgios Version Will Turn Up?

Kyrgios continues to sell out tennis stadiums around the world, with crowds eager see the man who is capable of some of the best tennis to be found anywhere, and yet, in the next breath, can suddenly erupt into anger, and begin arguments with match officials, spectators, opponents, and even ball boys.

This year has been no different. He has won two titles, in Acapulco and Washington, yet controversy is never far from his side. He has been fined numerous times, with one meltdown in Cincinnati costing him US $113,000 for an accumulation of nine separate offences.

He is also potentially facing a ban from the sport after calling ATP officials corrupt after he was beaten at the US Open, but he continues to play, in part because tournament organisers do not want to lose one of their main box office attractions.

Seppi, Italian in Twilight Stage of His Career

At 35 years old, Seppi is getting towards the twilight stage of his career, and it has been almost seven years since he won the last of his three ATP titles, the Kremlin Cup in Moscow. However, he did reach his first final in four years in January, losing to home favourite Alex de Minaur in Sydney.

Since then the majority of his success in 2019 has come on the Challenger circuit. He was a runner up in New Haven, and, just a week ago, went one better by lifting the trophy in Cary in the United States.

On the senior tour he reached the quarter-finals in Delray Beach and Halle.
