Caroline Wozniacki v Su-Wei Hsieh Head to Head
At the moment, Wozniacki holds a 4-1 lead over Hsieh although, they last met back in 2015. In their most recent meeting, which came in the Miami Open earlier this year, Hsieh sailed to the victory in three sets.
Hsieh, in with some Momentum
Currently ranked World No. 5 on the doubles circuit, Su-Wei Hsieh is heading into this fixture after reaching the women’s doubles final in the Pan Pacific Open. In the same tournament in singles half, she reached the second round after dispatching Garbine Muguruza but ultimately fell to Elise Mertens.
Over the last couple of weeks, her performance has been fairly mediocre. In stark contrast to the start of the year, when she reached the semifinal in Auckland and Dubai, Hsieh has barely made it past the third round in the recent months.
Among her best performances include her third-round feat in the Washington Open, WTA Hiroshima, and Cincinnati.

Wozniacki, Starting her Asian Swing
After having a very dull season on account of injuries and the subsequent loss in form, Caroline Wozniacki will be hoping for some reprieve in the Wuhan Open. Her chances of doing so, however, are not that great as she hasn’t been that clinical of late.
In the entire US Open Series, she won just three matches and never made it past the third round. Her best run came at the Flushing Meadows, where she fell to the eventual champion Bianca Andreescu in the first week itself.
But as a three-time Grand Slam finalist and a top-five player, Wozniacki has clearly got the skill set and experience needed to win the title in Wuhan. All she needs is her groove and some wins to get the ball rolling. Currently ranked World No. 17, the Dane needs a win just as much as anyone and we can expect her to fight hard for it.
Wozniacki v Hsieh Tips & Predictions
This is one fixture that can very well go either way. Wozniacki hasn’t had the best of the time on the tour this year as she fell to a litany of low-ranked players like Iga Swiatek, Dayana Yastremska, Shuai Zhang, and others. Hsieh can capitalise on this lack of form and momentum to get her victory. All in all, expect some quality tennis here.
Tip: Three sets in the match: 29/20 (888Sport)
