Martic, in a Superb Form
Petra Martic has proven herself to be a brilliant player of tennis on many occasions this season. From her quarterfinal feat in the French Open to defeating the likes of Angelique Kerber and Karolina Pliskova, she has had a year to be proud of.
Things are only moving forward for the 28-year-old Martic, who is on the verge of breaking into the top 20. After reaching the fourth-round in the US Open, she arrived in Zhengzhou for the Asian tournaments where she reached the final. After defeating Aryna Sabalenka and Kristina Mladenovic, she met Pliskova ultimately where she had to settle for the runner-up trophy.
Continuing in the same vein in Wuhan, she has so far knocked out Veronika Kudermetova and Mladenovic, along with Rebecca Larsson. She has looked impressive up until now and it will be intriguing to see how she fares against Barty.
