Borna Coric v Andrey Rublev Head to Head
The pair have met twice before, with Rublev winning on each occasion. The first of those two victories came in the Next Gen ATP finals in Italy in 2017, and that was followed by a quarter-final in Doha a few months later.
Coric, Looking to Forget Tokyo Setback
Coric had an encouraging start to the year. He reached the fourth round in Melbourne, was a semi-finalist in Dubai and s-Hertogenbosch, and the quarters in Miami and Monte Carlo.
However, injury then struck and he was forced to pull out of Halle, missed Wimbledon altogether, and then withdraw before his second round match at Flushing Meadows.
Since his return to the court he reached the final in St. Petersburg, losing to Daniil Medvedev, and followed that up by progressing to the quarter final in Zhuhai, where was beaten by the eventual winner, Alex de Minaur, of Australia.
Last week in Tokyo, however, seeded two, he was shocked in the second round by local favourite, Taro Daniel.

Rublev, Searching for Consistency
21-year old Rublev has claimed some impressive victories this year, beating Dominic Thiem in Hamburg, and then Roger Federer in Cincinnati, the biggest win of his career to date. Nick Kyrgios was also beaten in straight sets in the US Open.
What he has not yet been able to do is to string together a series of wins consistently, which is why his only senior career victory to date remains the Umag Open in 2017, although he was a beaten finalist in Hamburg earlier this year. He also lost in the final of the Challenger event in Phoenix.
He was a quarter-finalist in St. Petersburg in September, whilst, last week, in Beijing, he lost to Fabio Fognini of Italy, but only after claiming another big scalp in the first round, US Open semi-finalist Grigor Dimitrov.
Coric v Rublev Predictions & Tips
Coric is the marginal favourite to win this match at 5/6, whilst Rublev is priced at 6/5. This is a tough match for the Croat against a man who has won their previous two encounters. He will need to be at his best to win, otherwise Rublev will be able to claim another big name scalp to add to his growing collection.
Tip: Coric to win in three sets: 7/5 (888Sport)
