Novak Djokovic v Stefanos Tsitsipas Head to Head
The pair have met twice before. Tsitsipas won in three sets at the Rogers Cup in 2018, but Djokovic triumphed in the Madrid Masters earlier this year.
Djokovic Dominant Against Isner
Since Djokovic has returned from the shoulder injury he sustained in the US Open, he has looked virtually unbeatable. Last week he won the Japan Open, his 76th career title, coming through five matches without dropping a single set.
And he appears to have carried that form into China, after another commanding performance against John Isner in their third round match on Thursday. Having beaten the Canadian Denis Shapovalov in straight sets, the American got the same treatment. The Serb was utterly dominant on serve, winning 85% of his points on first serve, and not conceding a single break point to Isner in the entire match.
At this stage it is hard to see him not winning his 5th Masters title in Shanghai.

Tsitsipas Squeaked Past Hurkacz
By contrast, Tsitsipas had an almighty battle to get past the Pole Hubert Hurkacz in their third round match. Things began well enough for the Greek as he took the first set, but Hurkacz secured an early break in the second set, and went on to level the match. Nothing could separate them in the third, and it went to a tie-break, before the 21-year-old secured a vital mini-break, and was able to capitalise on it to close out the match.
He will need all those fighting qualities if he is to stand a chance against the world number one.
Still after suffering a dip in form in the second part of the season, he will regard the victory as another sign that he is getting back to his best form, after reaching the final in Beijing last week, and ending his losing sequence again Felix Auger-Aliassime, a man he had never previously beaten, in the second round.
Djokovic v Tsitsipas Predictions & Tips
Djokovic is the odds-on favourite to win this match at 3/16, whilst Tsitsipas is priced at 19/4. It is a sign of the utterly dominating form that Djokovic is in right now that he is so short priced, even against another top ten player, and a man who has beaten him before. Yet, it is difficult to envisage anything other than another convincing win for the Serb.
Tip: Djokovic to win in straight sets: 4/9 (888Sport)
