Karolina Muchova v Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova Head to Head
The pair have never met on their careers before. This will be the first meeting between them.
Muchova Having a Fantastic End-of-Season Run
The 23-year-old Czech’s season started with an impressive run till the quarter-finals in Doha. Her season has gone from strength to strength from thereon. She was the runners up in Prague and reached the last eight at the Wimbledon. She finally won her maiden title at Seoul and as a result, is enjoying her highest ever ranking at 35 at the moment.
Muchova has been impressive this week. She has won all her three matches in straight sets, including her second-round victory against world number 21 Donna Vekic.
With no points to defend from here on in the season, she is likely to achieve a new career-best when the new rankings have been announced.

Pavlyuchenkova Needs to Handle Pressure Situations Better
Just as recently as at the start of last week, Pavlyuchenkova’s win-loss record for the year was tilting towards the losses. Three victories this week has meant that the record now is, 25-21. Not spectacular for someone who has won 12 titles on the WTA tour in her career and a former world number 13.
She had a brilliant start to the season where she reached the quarter-finals at the Australian Open. Some big names like Kiki Bertens, Artna Sabalenka, and Angelique Kerber have been her victims this season. She has a good record against big-name players, and she almost claimed her first title of the season last month, where she fell at the last hurdle at the Osaka WTA losing to Naomi Osaka.
Her biggest problem is inconsistency and her inability to handle big points. In the last two years, she has lost more matches then she has won where the match has gone into the deciding set in. Her win-loss record where the match has gone into three sets is 15-19 since the start of 2018.
Karolina Muchova v Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova Predictions & Tips
Muchova’s season has got better with time. She lost a final at Prague, won in Seoul, and has been imperious this week in Moscow. Pavlyuchenkova, on the other hand, has it in her to take out a higher-ranked opponent. This match is likely to be about the one who plays the big points well.
Muchova is likely to prevail in a close match.
